Bendir is a traditional framedrum used throughout North Africa. Its shell is made of (very light) orange tree wood and its head, of (very tight) goatskin or synthetic material. It is generally equipped with a snare (made of gut) stretched across its head, which gives the instrument a distinctive buzzing sound when the hand hits the skin.
German manufacturer Schlagwerk presents this brilliant model with both traditional sound quality and an innovative, mechanical tuning device. Its snare consists of four strings.
A professional-class instrument, suitable for live performance or studio recording.
