Cambodian Jew’s harp – 3-piece set

This bamboo Jew’s harp is made in South-Eastern Asia, and more particularly in Vietnam and Cambodia

Due to its soft sound quality, it is used in more “intimist” musical environments than its metal equivalent.

Designed on the same principle as the H’mong jew’s harp, it consists of a single piece of bamboo with a central strip which comes off its frame (still remaining fixed to it on one thin side) to vibrate freely.

This jew’s harp is placed against the lips and produces a lower-pitched, drier sound than a metal one.

Rich sound variations demand a lot of mouth-modulation and epiglottis technique, but the primary sound of a Cambodian jew’s harp is already a warm, gentle one.
