Morsing (Moorshing) – South Indian Jew’s harp
This model is made of wrought iron in Southern India by qualified, experienced craftsmen.
It is a loud, powerful jew’s harp, with a thick frame and a sturdy, rigid reed. These characteristics give it a high-, to very high-pitched tone range, while its sound level is one of the highest in its instrument family.
Like with all jew’s harps of this kind, playing requires to press the instrument against one’s teeth and pluck the reed only forward. Plucking has to be firm and precise in order to reveal this jew’s harp full dimension.
Among this jew’s harp’s specificity is the possibility to use, not only one’s mouth but also one’s breath as a resonator, particularly by breathing in.
This model is a real pleasure for musicians anxious to play a precise, powerful instrument.
It is delivered in a sturdy cardboard protection case.
